A November Update from Tim Cox of GOOOH

We here at The Center Strikes Back continue to be intrigued by the activities of Tim Cox and his GOOH organization.

Here's one reason for our curiousity. Think of some of the things that are going on right now in the Congress and the gridlock we're having on getting things done. What if there were even 50-75 (not 435 as Tim wants) Representatives whose criteria for voting was as follows. What makes the most sense for the largest amount of people for the longest period of time balanced by doing the least amount of damage possible to the fewest amount of people for the shortest period of time with the best solution possible with the dollars available given competing priorities? And these 50-75 people were not beholden to Party politics on either side of the aisle, but rather told the majority what changes would have to be made to get their vote? Would we have grid lock or progress? Fun to think about, isn't it? And, yes, Tim, I know my criteria isn't yours, but it gets a dialogue going.

At any rate, Tim emailed us an update for GOOOH in November today and we're publishing the content here.

Get Out Of Our House
A plan to evict the 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives
November 11, 2007
We have made tremendous progress in the last month. Get Out Of Our House: Revolution! may now be purchased from most major book stores across the country and have begun appearing on the shelves at Barnes & Noble and Borders in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Midland-Odessa, Seattle and Portland. Copies can be ordered online from Amazon and others. Over 40 national print and television outlets have a copy in their possession for review.

We are receiving requests for interviews from radio stations. I'll be on the air on 11/14 in Midland-Odessa (KCRS 550), and on 11/15 in several cities along the Gulf Coast including Houston (950 AM), New Orleans (95.7), Baton Rouge/Lafayette (98.1), and Biloxi/Gulfport (97.9). Both interviews are scheduled to begin around 7:30 a.m.

The Austin American Statesman wrote a story about us. We have had several successful speaking engagements and are being mentioned on Web sites and in Blogs we never knew existed. We have three book signings scheduled and many more in the works. Several college students are writing about GOOOH. More people are visiting our site each day; many are becoming members. Donations have begun to trickle in. We have several opportunities brewing that offer tremendous hope.

We still have a long, long way to go, but the first 30 days could not have gone better. I thank you for everything you have done so far. Your continued support is appreciated: visit the Web site, tell your friends, buy a book, call a radio station, comment online, or make a donation. If you know of a group that needs a speaker, consider GOOOH.

I hope you will once again forward this note to every person you know. Imagine our House of Representatives with 435 American patriots who are not career politicians, who are not indebted to special interest groups or controlled by their party, and who are willing to document exactly how they are going to vote on every key issue. Imagine that they have been selected by their peers and that they have agreed to be held accountable to their personal platform. Imagine honest, trustworthy, patriots who are sincerely interested in doing what is best for our country, not what is best for themselves, their party, or whoever funded their campaign.

It is understandable to not want to have anything to do with politics, but the time has come when we must. Our grandchildren and theirs will not have the same freedoms and opportunities that you and I have been blessed with if we do not change the way our country is managed. To do that, we must get rid of the politicians.

Thanks for your continued support,
Tim
