In Iraq Until 2018?
Yesterday the VoiceVets Blog noted something we picked up on, too. That was an article in the NY Times about an Iraqi official visiting Fort Monroe, VA (a place where I worked for 3 years) and revealing plans that would keep Americans heavily involved in Iraq until the year 2018.
Actually, this is a connect the dots kind of exercise. Go back and read Gen McCaffrey's trip report posted earlier in this blog and his commentary about how much equipment the Iraqis need to procure and be trained on to defend themselves. You'll see there the inevitability of this sort of thing.
