Voter ID Fraud
When I was waiting to come on the radio in Tampa last Sunday night, the caller on the line was railing against the new Voter ID laws as an infringement of her personal rights.
The controversy is not just about personal rights, its also about disenfranchisement of voters. The balancing argument is how do we identify who amongst us are truly citizens and worthy of all the range of services this country offers without verifiable identification?
This article from The Nation touches on some of these arguements.

Polarizing politics. Now we've really found an issue. Voter ID.
I work as a volunteer as an election official in my county. When I started, I was flabbergasted that we do not require identification from voters. Other election officials I know share this view. Voters often offer ID when they sign in to vote, and are surprised when we tell them we don't need to see it.
How is this polarizing? This is a bogus issue purely for political gain. In our modern automated society, it has become customary to identify ourselves to buy things, to travel and just to generally live our lives. Given that environment, it is just incredible that a certain faction argues against voters properly identifying themselves.
Seriously, how hard is it to get an ID if you are entitled to one?
I know, the disenfranchised voters. Someone please tell me who they are and why they can't be responsible enough to get an ID like the vast majority of American citizens.
