A Conservative Analyzes Republican Conservatives
David Frum, a former speechwriter for George W. Bush, has an Op-Ed in the NY Times today.
The Op-Ed dissects the three major wings of the Republican Party and why the Party seems to have such difficulty harmonizing its message. Frum correctly identifies Republicans' difficulty with our principle of Social Tolerance (although he doesn't call it such) as one of the key obstacles to that harmony.
One of the questions we would have is one of trust. Even if Republicans were to make the changes to their message that Frum recommends, could the electorate trust them to actually implement those changes?
Here is a link to Frum's Op-Ed.
