David Sirota: The Candidate of the Permanent Will
This article by David Sirota is an excellent critique of the potential of Mayor Bloomberg as a Presidential candidate and as a President.
As I wrote to an editorial reporter last week, if Bloomberg really wants to do something positive for voters this election, then he should put his money and organizational skill into state referendums. Those state referendums would enable instant run-off voting and proportional delegate representation in the Electoral College. Then if Bloomberg runs in 2012 or later, he would have a fighting chance as a third party candidate.

Depending on who the Democratic nominee will be, I can see supporting Mayor Bloomberg, as will many people I know.

Tell us more. Which candidate would cause you to hope for Mayor Bloomberg to run--or do you think he will run at all?
