Good article. Of course, a party will look for an opponent's weakness. From an objective point of view, these are the weaknesses of an Obama candicacy. As we have said before on this blog, of the major democrat candidates, one is very devisive and the other is wet behind the ears. And, of course, how will we pay for all of those programs they talk about?
It is also rational to believe the democrats will gameplan for their run, looking for McCain soft spots. I'm sure age, Iraq, and temperament will be some of the things they will emphasize. And, if the New York Times view prevails, lobbyists and sex.
And where does Ralph Nader fit in here?

Jim,
Thanks for your comments.
Nader is a head shaker. He's actually older than McCain and has less experience than Obama.
I'll say the same thing about his running that I will say about Bloomberg if he runs. A better use of their time would be getting behind the institution of Instant Run-off Voting and Proportional Allocation of Delegates to the Electoral College based on the popular vote in the individual states. Otherwise, third parties in this country will continue to be ineffectual in giving voters a better choice and more responsive candidates.
