A New Perspective on Global Warming

Yesterday I got a new perspective on Global Warming. I was on Paul Porter's Real Life Radio show in Jacksonville, Florida. Through the discussion generated by one of the callers, the topic of Global Warming came up. Paul made the point that the arguments of solar scientists are being ignored in this debate. He stated that the study of the sun's activity shows a 99% correlation with the relation between the Sun and the Earth for both the Earth's warming and cooling. In contrast, Paul said climatologists have no real models with the emperical data needed to actually predict global warming or cooling. So, while Paul was in favor of recycling and reducing our carbon footprint where we can, he was also concerned that Global Warming was being treated with the same fervor as a religion and too many of its precepts are trying to be unnecessarily imposed on the population as a whole.

I am much more of a social scientist than I am a natural scientist. I'm wired to be pre-disposed to the former, rather than the latter, so Global Warming is not a subject I have paid this much attention to.

I would be interested in anyone reading this who would like to comment and provide authoritative data sources one way or the other.

Meanwhile, I would like to thank Paul for having me on his program. We had a lot of very interesting callers and discussion.
