Proposed Questions for Petraeus and Crocker
The NY Times asked three people what questions should be asked at the Senate hearings today with Gen Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker.
One set of questions I would like to see asked is about detainees. How many Iraqis citizens are under detention and for what reasons? What is the resolution of their detention status? In other words, how long will those in detention remain in detention? To what degree has detaining Iraqis contributed to whatever success we have had in the surge? What happens to that stability when and if detainees are released?
