David S. Broder: The Question Petraeus Can't Answer
An excellent article by Broder summarizing where we are now in Iraq.
Also, there is no electronic link for me to post the article here, but Men's Journal has an excellent article about Petraeus. He is Year Group 1974 out of West Point, meaning he has 34 years service. I am now motivated to try to get a copy of the re-write of the Army Counter Insurgency (COIN) manual that Petraeus authored.
One sidelight of the article is how Rumsfeld felt he had banished Petraeus by giving him command of Fort Leavenworth. Once again, a demonstration of how little Rumsfeld understood about the Army and ground combat.
