David Brooks: The Two Obamas
I'm back. Strange the obligation you feel to a blog and to keep it updated and fresh. That's why I always appreciate input, as well as the dialogue we've had going on lately.
I've been in a meeting the last two days that had me immersed in political discussions the entire time. So thank you for your patience in my absence.
I intended to be on earlier today, but then we got a call from someone wanting to get rid of their College World Series tickets and we jumped on it. We have bought these folks tickets before, so we knew the seats were looking straight down the first base line behind the screen. I love the perspective and not having to be on guard against line drives. The weather was gorgeous, plus my Kiwanis Club is hosting the Fresno State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs won tonight, so they are in the Finals against the Georgia Bulldogs. Even if you're not particularly a baseball fan, this is a great event to attend.
Anybody remember Lewis Grizzard's story about Bubba and Earl at the Georgia Football game watching Uga, the Bulldog mascot?
Anyway, back to business. Conservative David Brooks writes an article warning other conservatives not to take Barack Obama for granted. See for yourself here.

Hi Larry,
Good to have you back.
I wanted to look into the veracity of this claim in the article: "Obama’s money is forever. He’s got an army of small donors and a phalanx of BIG MONEY BUNDLERS, including, according to The Washington Post, Kenneth Griffin of the Citadel Investment Group; Kirk Wager, a Florida trial lawyer; James Crown, a director of General Dynamics; and Neil Bluhm, a hotel, office and casino developer."
If true, it doesn't seem to jibe with Obama's claim that he is only taking money from single-party donors.
