Gingrich and Clark (Among Others) Weigh in on McCain and Obama's Experience
A friend recently sent me this quote from a columnist regarding Obama's qualifications.
"From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State (sic) Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the federal Senatre. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander in Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days. I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that."

By chance, I then came across this interview with Newt Gingrich on Face the Nation. Gingrich contends--
"American voters will not reject Senator Barack Obama for president based on his experience but rather on his policies, says a Republican observer, who also predicted that if the GOP insists on campaigning against him on that basis they will lose."

Also stirring a great deal of interest from recent remarks is retired General Wesley Clark. VoteVets.org notes about Clark's appearance on Face the Nation. "Yesterday, on Face the Nation, General Wesley Clark spoke honestly and bluntly about what it takes to be Commander in Chief. In doing so, while he said Senator John McCain’s service made him a hero to millions, including Clark himself, that experience does not trump the poor judgment that Senator McCain has shown on some of the most important issues in recent years."
