Ken Pollack: A Path out of the Desert

Are you sick of Presidential Politics yet?

If you're feeling sick, it's because you're letting the winds of the daily news cycle blow you around and you're getting seasick because your boat seems to be spinning around. As I often say in interviews, the key to avoid that feeling is to focus on principles and outcomes. Begin with the end in mind and know what you want from government. When you know what you want, then you are like someone in a sailboat who knows how to set the sail and hold the rudder. No matter which way the wind is blowing (even if its blowing inthe oposite direction of the way you want to go), if you know how to set the sail and hold the rudder, then you will continue to make progress on getting where you want to go. If you don't have those skills, then you're going to be sick.

A friend of mine turned me on to Ken Pollack and his recently published book, A Path Out of the Desert. He's making the talk show rounds. One of those shows was Charlie Rose. I recommend you listen to the interview and read the comments for another perspective.
