Extra! Extra! Tom Friedman Flushes a Toilet
New York Times Pulitzer Prize winning pundit, former Israeli bureau chief, and author of the acclaimed book “From Beirut to Jerusalem,” has just discovered that Europeans use much less energy per capita than Americans.
More shocking, his most recent pontification “ Flushing with Energy,” is the most popular article today on the New York Times Web page.
Friedman — who believes the world is flat — marvels over toilets in Greenland that do not waste gallons of water to dispose of a few ounces of urine, swoons over the fact that Danes actually bicycle to work, and endorses tax credits for renewable energy like those that ripped off American taxpayers in the 1980s while doing nothing at all to protect the environment.
Well worth the read, considering that Farrar, Straus and Giroux is getting ready to publish a book in few weeks containing Friedman’s brilliant insights on how to rehabilitate America’s disgraceful foreign policy by hijacking international environmental policy.
