Andrew J. Bacevich is expressing views very close to my own. We have a serious difficulty in this country--how do we bring back shared sacrifice in this country.

Bacevich who identifies three major problems facing our democracy: the crises of economy, government and militarism, and calls for a redefinition of the American way of life."

I strongly recommend you read the article, as well as the article by Bacevich on Tom's Dispatch. Bacevich does well at defining the problem, but stops short of the political solution. That's where I begin with my book and White Paper.
