The Intellectual Republican a.k.a. The Dumb Democrat

This is me catching up on my blog postings after a lot of travel.

From time to time I publish something I find because it expresses an extreme view from one side of the political spectrum or the other. Publishing does not mean I agree with someone. In fact, I find a lot to disagree with.

For example, I do not believe in socialism. Government control without competition will fail to produce the best for consumers. At the same time, I do not believe in economic slavery. Free market competition should not allow monopoly. Monopoly fails to produce the best for consumers, too. There's a balance to be had somewhere.

So, if you read this and you're tempted to vote you didn't like it because you disagree with it, then please think again. I would hope you vote you like something because it stimulated your own thoughts about your own point of view, not necessarily because you agreed with it. That said, here's the link.

I read part of the article in question until I got sick of it. The article, in my opinion, is just a conservative rant. The author is not an intellectual as he seems to think he is and neither is he sufficiently well informed on his topic to write about it intelligently. So the question remains, why are you referencing his article?

Hi, Max. Thanks for your question.

One of the things I try to do here is have some sort of balance.

As you say, the article is a conservative rant and I preferenced its publication here by saying I disagreed with a lot of what was being said. I don't think its a good idea for us to get in a group think mode, plus I think never publishing anything extreme on either side is losing my vote.

A rattlesnake may be a loathsome creature, but if we do not examine it closely, then we will not be able to develop the antidote for its venom.

I also hope those of you who disagree with what I post will be kind enough to help us know why you disagree and help advance everyone's understanding of an issue, regardless of your initial position.

      Thanks again for posting, Max.
