Bob Herbert--The Mask Slips

I have been writing for some time now about getting voters to change their approach to politics. I want them to get away from issues and personalities and move towards principles and outcomes. Especially outcomes. Look at the results you're getting with what your elected officials are doing. Remember that old saying about, "What you do speaks so loud I cannot hear what you say?"

For the last 7.5 years, we have seen what happens if you actually implement the Republican philosophy. Bob Herbert sums it up when he writes, "For the nitwits who vote for the man or woman they’d most like to have over for dinner, or hang out at a barbecue with, I suggest you take a look at how well your 401(k) is doing, or how easy it will be to meet the mortgage this month, or whether the college fund you’ve been trying to build for your kids is as robust as you’d like it to be."
