YouTube: Glenn Beck on the US Financial Crisis
This is a segment from one of Glenn's television shows.
Glenn interviews David Walker while he was still the Comptroller General of the US. Walker is now President of the Peterson Foundation and featured in the documentary movie IOUSA.
I had a dialogue with my Congressman at my Kiwanis meeting last Friday. I intend to post about that more in detail shortly. One point I made was this. No one got a tax cut. Your taxes have not been cut, they have been postponed. You now owe more in taxes (via the national debt) than ever before. Today, we're up to owing about $33,000 each for every man, woman and child in this country. If someone wants to talk about the death tax, then you should talk about the birth tax every newborn in this country inherits as a result of this debt.

I am always the optimist... the market will correct with conservation, exploration, and/or consumer choices.

I agree. Over time the market will correct. Hopefully we can do some things to accellerate the process.

At the time of financial crises we need to come together united and try to solve the problems which are responsible for such a hazard. We need to overcome it. It is meant to bring calm to the population and markets and display government strength and stability.
