Al Qaeda Reacts to Obama

One of the things I try to do here is help people look for the countering point of view.

I make the point sometimes in my talks that one of the lessons I learned in the Army was about how best to defend a particular location. The thing you need to do is analyze the location not just from the viewpoint of the defender. If at all possible, you need to look at the location from the point of view of the attacker. I was often amazed by the possibilities I found for the attacker when I did this simple exercise and the vulnerabilities I had left myself exposed to.

During the election campaign, I often heard the viewpoint that Senator McCain was the candidate Al Qaeda feared most and Senator Obama was the candidate Al Qaeda wanted to win. I argued the opposite was true. Senator McCain most reinforced the strengths of Al Qaeda and Senator Obama presented them with the greatest threat.

The communication Al Qaeda released yesterday proves me right.

See for yourself.
