You Can't Change the Political Game Unless You Change the Political Rules
One of the links on the Blog is to Independent Voting Magazine, which is published on the web by the Committee for an Independent Unified Party. On the link below is a page from their web site with an article speaking doing exactly what I'm advocating. We need to change the rules of our political process to give more power back to individual citizens.
I don't agree with everything they advocate, but they are at least talking about what needs to be talked about. For example, I do not think term limits would be needed if we had Instant Runoff Voting (IRV). The same thing applies to open primaries. Why do Independent Voters want to be able to vote in Primaries? Because they know the primaries are the only place they have a variety of choice with our system. Again, institute IRV and many of these concerns will go away.
