I' m starting my new year early by starting to clear out some of the information I had intended to post earlier.

Someone posted an article saying Obama did not actually get his campaign money from small donations. This article makes the case that Obama did get his campaign money from small donations.

This type of thing is the reason we voters need to wean ourselves from supporting individual candidates and support political parties with consistent messages instead. Part of your support must be financial. Thousands and thousands of small donations from individuals neutralizes the few large donations from corporations and special interest groups. The people we elect to office are then responsive to the thousands and thousands instead of the few. It's the way the world works. We can either harness it or swim upstream against it.
