One of the expectations I have for myself as Democrats begin to take power is to enforce upon myself the saying that what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Another word I have used to describe this phenomenon is consistency. If you were out of power and thought a certain practive was bad, then now that you're in power that same practice should still be bad. The fact you're in power does not suddenly grant you new powers perfuming your feces.

Consistency and competency should be two of the watchwords for this incoming Administration and Congress.

Accordingly, I am very happy to offer this opinion piece that perhaps the time has come for Rep Charlie Rangel of New York to be shown the door.
