Why They FEAR Eric Holder (and President Obama)

I read the other day someone was offended President Obama made remarks critical of President Bush in Obama's Inaugural address. Personally, I think Bush got off lucky. If Obama had really been bent on satisfying the fantasies of some, then Bush and Cheney would have been handcuffed and led directly to jail the moment the oath was taken.

By the way, let's talk about the oath. I've taken and given oaths as an Army Officer. That oath is all about supporting and defending the Constitution and is very similar to the Presidential oath. Catch the end of the movie An Officer and a Gentleman if you want to hear it. Given that experience, here are two comments. First, no Bible is required. Second, the responsibility for administering the oath properly rests with the person giving it. If the giver screws it up, then the person following along will screw up. Most times the giver is working with a script and the oath is broken up on a piece of paper so the reader has logical breaks making it easier for the person(s) taking the oath to repeat the words exactly. In short, the screw up is the responsibility of the Chief Justice. For all of you who may have a similar task to perform in the future, my advice is this: Practice, practice, practice.

That said, this article brings up the reasons many felt Bush and Cheney should have been handcuffed. If you have been watching MSNBC's Countdown, then you know an ex-NSA official is already talking about crimes being committed with regard to warrantless wiretaps. With a new Administration in place, expect more of these types of exposes' from people who will feel they no longer are subject to retribution as they were under the previous Administration.
