Common Dreams: Pentagon Nominee May Make $500K on Sale of Raytheon Stock

Here is a clear example of what is known as the revolving door between government and the private sector. Why be concerned? Because the revolving door creates the opportunity and appearance of a conflict of interest.

Is this the only man capable of working in the position? I doubt it.

Why do we have this situation? I don't have the time to confirm directly (maybe some of you who have closer connections can do it for me), but I suspect part of the reason is we have driven the slots for political appointees deeper and deeper into Federal agencies like DOD. If we want to slow down opportunities for the revolving door, then we need to return to staffing these postions with civil servants.
