Tom Friedman: Elvis Has Left the Mountain

Expect a lot of debate about the so-called Stimulus Bill being debated in the Senate this week. I'll have a lot more to say in my Ezine this week. This reminds me of a lot of doctors huddled over a critically ill patient with a disease rarely seen before. Because the disease is so rare, there's not a lot of data on a successful prescription. There was a lot of data on how to avoid catching the disease in the first place, but that data was ignored by people who thought they were smarter than the data. So now we have what we have.

I say again one of Harry Truman's favorite sayings, "There's really nothing new in the world. There's only all the history you don't know."

At any rate, Tom makes some good points.
