This world functions according to the law of cause and effect. If you can find what causes a desirable effect and duplicate that what in your own life, then you are more likely to create that kind of effect for yourself. That’s why winners study winners. Winners want to know what makes winners win.

I am fascinated by the study of people, leadership and success in organizations. For the last few years I have been trying to apply those lessons to politics for the benefit of our citizens. As citizens, government is our business. Why would you try to wreck your own business? Yet wreckage is what we seem to have wrought.

Some of the best places for finding transferable success lessons include sports, business and warfare.* Recently, I found some new lessons learned from an article about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Super Bowl XVIII victory.  Here’s a link to the article. http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/2009/02/04/the_lesson_of_steelers_super_bowl/

Consider these facts. Since 1967, there have been 43 Super Bowls. The Steelers have been in the playoffs competing to go to a Super Bowl 17 of the possible 43 times. They’ve actually been to the Super Bowl 7 times. They’ve won 6 out of the 7 times. They have won the Super Bowl more times than any other franchise in the National Football League. What that achievement means to you is the people running the Steelers must have a winning formula figured out. So, what is that winning formula and can the formula be applied for better politics and government?
