David Sirota--Past the Point of No Return
Yesterday I featured a posting by a decidedly conservative person who had a message of value about the future for conservatives. Today I have someone decidedly progressive person who also has a message of value about what the future is likely to hold.
One of my favorite quotes from Shakespeare is about reaching the place in crossing a stream where, "It is as tedious to cross over as it is to return." Sirota speaks to that today.
I'm also reminded of watching the comic Gallagher on TV once. He commented that the people who settled on the Eastern side of the Rockies were the ones on the way to California who looked up at those peaks and said "F**k it!" According to Gallagher, nobody set out to settle in Oklahoma. But when the wagon broke down and they couldn't fix it, they decided to bloom where they were planted. As proof, Gallagher said, what's the first thing you see at the entrance to all those farms and ranches? That's right, it's wagon wheels from a Conestoga wagon.
So much for my whimsical attempts at humor. Here's a link to the article.
