National Medal of Honor Day
My buddy Cass sent me this email today.
How strange people can name you all sorts of trivia about sports and entertainment (including me), but can't name the recipients of our nation's supreme award for courage and sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty.
Accordingly, here is my own small attempt to balance the scales. What follows is the text of his email.

Today is National Medal of Honor Day....see link below.
This one snuck up on me. As far as I can tell way out here in the hills and woods, not many news media has picked up on this...Hopefully, I'm wrong.
Btw, since 2001 our county's highest award for combat valor has been bestowed on only five warriors, all posthumously.
They are: Marine Cpl Jason Dunham, Iraq.
Army Spc. Ross McGinnis, Iraq.
Navy Master at Arms 2nd Cl, Mike Monsour (SEAL), Iraq.
Navy Lt. Mike Murphy (SEAL) Afghanistan
Army Sgt.1st Cl. Paul Ray Smith, Iraq.
Let us not forget...
De Oppresso Liber & Semper Fi!
