William Greider--Testicular Politics: Obama and the Big Dogs

I found this article on the Common Dreams web site and was immediately drawn to it because of its author. I saw Greider on Bill Moyers' show and found him very credible. I picked up one of his books and browsed it.  I discovered he served two years in the Army as a Draftee and covered LT William Calley's trial over the My Lai Massacre. He has a lof of insightful thoughts about what's wrong with our nation and government.

What I find intriguing about this article is its demonstration of the far left's unhappiness with Obama. The question comes up--If you have someone who's pissing off both the far left and the far right, do you have a winner for the rest of us? The jury is still out.

Here's a link to the article. The commentary is worth your time.

Another reason I like this article is Greider's reiteration of something I and others have been saying.

We have polarized politics because of the influence of the political donor class on both parties.

The difficulties we have are not exclusively the fault of either party alone. The difficulties are the fault of the system we use to elect people to represent us. So long as we use this system, we will have these difficulties. If you want to get rid of the difficulties, then you must change the system.
