First I want to comment on the recent deaths of several celebrities. Second I want to remark on the most recent revelations concerning politicians and infidelity.
I offer my condolences to all who mourn the loss of Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson. McMahon did much to make the success of The Tonight Show what it was with Johnny Carson. He represented a generation fading more and more from our presence with each passing day. An unfortunate truth is when you live a long time, then there are fewer who remember and mourn you.
The deaths of Fawcett and Jackson are another significant jolt to the Boomer generation’s view of their mortality.
