1. Upcoming Events
Given two significant events in my personal life recently and a lightening strike near the radio station in Knoxville which knocked them off the air for the better part of a week, my interviewing schedule has been disrupted. Here is a summary of the events I’ll be in and people I’ll be interviewing over the next few weeks.
First, we have some new episodes with a new set for Real Spit/Your City Tonight with Sam Hunter. We’re particularly glad to feature Kids Can (formally known as Social Settlement) on July 15 and 22, 2009. Kids Can is a non-profit organization benefiting both kids and adults in Omaha and across the country. See those episodes on Wednesday nights at 9:00 p.m. CDT on Channel 109 on Omaha’s Cox Cable. (I’d really like your comments on our new set design. We’re a work in process, but I’d still like to hear from you.)
This July 15 we are scheduled to tape two shows with the two newest members of the Omaha City Council, Ben Gray and Jean Stothert. These episodes will be broadcast in August, 2009.
Here are the people I am so far scheduled to interview on Car Concerns. With the other events behind me, we’ll be scheduling more guests to interview with the intent of making you more effective and efficient voters. All of my guests are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. EDT (9:00 a.m. CDT).
Tuesday, July 21, Guest Dr. David Gruder, Is Barack Obama Really pushing America towards Socialism?
Thursday, July 23, Guest Judah Freed, What would Thomas Paine say about Barack Obama?
Thursday, July 30, Guest Glenn Shepard, Glen Shepard Seminars—How do generational differences affect people at work and in the voting booth?
Tuesday, Aug 13, Guest Mike Lux, author of The Progressive Revolution We’re going to follow up from our first interview so Mike can tell us more about the theory of Social Darwinism and how it’s used in politics. We’ll also talk about the use of fear in politics.
Keep an eye on my Blog at www.TheCenterStrikesBack.com for current updates.
2. Aligning Wheels, Balancing Tires
What if you aligned the wheels on your car or truck the way you set the operating philosophy of your government?
Ever ridden down the road and seen the car or truck in front of you with the wheels out of alignment? Looks funny, doesn’t it, when the rear wheels don’t run in the same tracks made by the front wheels? You look at the vehicle, you’re able to see all 4 wheels, and you say to yourself, "Can’t that fool feel that in the steering? Why do they put up with that?" Maybe we should be asking ourselves the same question about government.
Think about the various options for aligning the wheels on a car.
You could . . .
