Frank Rich--The G.O.P. Stalinists Invade Upstate New York

Frank Rich seems to be saying Republicans feel they lost because they weren't "conservative" enough. This is causing Republicans to nominate candidates who are farther and farther to the right politically. While pleasing to the true believers, this strategy (according to Rich) is unlikely to be successful in the general elections.

I'm interested in commentary on Rich's depictions of Tea Partiers and other conservatives.

Somebody write me and tell me how (in your opinion) Rich has it wrong.
