Tom Friedman: A Tea Party Without Nuts

Tom Friedman writes today about something we have long advocated here--Instant Runoff Voting or Ranked Choice Voting (IRV/RCV). Until both the Democrats and Republicans fear losing to someone else besides one another, we will have no change in their behavior. To repeat myself, (quoting from the Corollary to Murphy's Law) before you do anything you have to do something else first. So long as you have the system you have, you will have the behavior you have. If you want to change the behavior, then you have to change the system.
